Be it their ego hassles, petty rivalries or stormy history; here’s a look at eight celeb duos we will never see together onscreen again: Aamir Khan & Shah Rukh Khan The promise of watching two of Bollywood’s titans come together would definitely set the box office till ringing, but given that Aamir named his pet dog after SRK, we can’t honestly blame the latter for wanting to keep his distance. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Salman Khan Theirs was one of the most talked about relationships in showbiz, and while we do feel for their loss, forgive us for being more concerned with the fact that their messy breakup has effectively slammed the door on any potential Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam sequels. Bipasha Basu & John Abraham He has spent the past year making statements along the lines of, “Working with Bipasha Basu is not even on my mind.” She has spent the past year by succinctly stating that, “John Abraham, who? I don’t know him,” as means of retaliation. And we, meanwhile, have spent the past year trying to kill all hopes of ever seeing this sizzling pair onscreen again. Kareena Kapoor Khan & Shahid Kapoor Fans were shocked to learn that despite their electrifying chemistry onscreen, the couple had decided to take the road for splitsville. It’s been a few years since, and we’d have thought that they’d have moved on. However, given their pointed icing out of each other, the only way to get your fill of this duo is to hold on to your Jab We Met DVDs. Priyanka Chopra & Akshay Kumar The 2005 drama Waqt was Priyanka and Akshay’s last ever venture together and apparently not by Akshay’s choice – Wifey Twinkle apparently forbade him from signing another film with her given their unsettling closeness while shooting Aitraaz. And just like that, another sizzling onscreen pair bit the dust. Salman Khan & Shah Rukh Khan Don’t let the iftaari hugging sessions fool you. If you’ve been waiting for the duo to fall back into their easy camaraderie from the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai days, you might be left waiting for a decade or so. And probably another few before they decide to share screen space again. Kareena Kapoor Khan & Bipasha Basu We’ve always heard that girls take their clothes very seriously, but the two actresses took pettiness to a whole new level when Bipasha poked fun at Kareena’s outfits on the sets of Ajnabee and the latter retaliated by publicly calling her a ‘kalli billi.’ Although given that Kareena later also took potshots at John Abraham by calling him expressionless, we’d have thought that they have plenty to bond over. Sonakshi Sinha & Ranbir Kapoor + Shahid Kapoor Casting directors, who were already harried with Shahid and Kareena’s refusal to look eye- to-eye, had another headache added to their list when Shahid went ahead and scratched Sonakshi Sinha off his list of potential leading ladies, on the grounds that she looked too old for him. Concerns that were echoed by Ranbir Kapoor, who flatly refused to act opposite her because he didn’t fancy his leading lady looking older than him. RIP Sonakshi’s self esteem.
