#8: In my early life I took care of my mother`s cattle. Among them was one really aggressive bull that seemed not to like me much. "Maritati" we called it. But I aways took it to the river to drink water. There are two sayings that made no sense then, but now they do. "You can take a bull to the river but you can never force it to drink water!" The real world interpretation is that you never too important that your will has to be done. That is one thing, we human beings always forget. We want our road or the highway. But things never work that way. I pray that God gives me wisdom to understand to be humble and to listen and hear what others have to say and to be fair in everything. The second saying is literally the same as the first one. There were frogs at the river where we took our cattle to drink water and they were noisy. But the cattle always drank water when they wanted to regardless of the noise the frogs made. So the saying goes that the noise of a frog can not prevent a cow from drinking water. It literally means that sometimes, things are done despite what we want to be done. So there is really no point worrying about that you have no control over. So rule #8 states that: "ITS FAR MORE IMPORTANT TO WORRY ABOUT THE THINGS YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER, THAN TO FIXATED ON THOSE THAT YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER. Focusing on those things you can control allows you to change your own destiny. I hope to always focus on those things I have control over and know my place in life.
