8 October Dangers of Power Often people strive for power, they feel afraid to give their power away. However they dont realise the danger and addictive personality of power. Once power oriented person gives power over them to the power itself, power possesses the person, paralyses their mind and takes full control over persons life, actions, attitudes and behaviours. Power possessed person becomes unpleasant to be around as they make friends with arrogance. People who have strong need for power usually come from controlling and/or abusive childhood environment and they think that acquiring power is their way out. They live with that thought for many years and it becomes their dream which mind transforms in to reality. As person grows up completely powerless they create images of how they will free themselves. However violence, physical or emotional is all they know and naturally they get carried away with visualising themselves using power and violence to gain freedom. If they are familiar with fairy tales they also learn that all good fights all bad and win by destroying the power of the enemy. As they see themselves destroying their enemy and their power, people perceive becoming powerful themselves without any competition present. It is difficult to see light coming from darkness and power becomes peoples perception of light because they think that with power they can do and have all they want. It is important to note that there is no good or healthy power and if dangers of power not realised person pursuing it meets with consequences of their actions in one way or another ~ Erishka Fridman-Catt
