9. THE WARNING: Day 8 of we are living in Year Zero...Yes I am still doing this, and there are 7 more songs to go, and Im just hoping that maybe youll read one of these and be like maybe hes right or hey I really enjoy this song. Anyway, this is where the album gets really good, and a bit extra......terrestrial Id guess youd say. In the Year Zero story line, there is what is called The Presence this giant long hand that extends from the sky and wipes out the place it extends itself to. Its apparently here to rid the planet of the thing that is killing it the most, people. So this song plays out like if aliens were looking down from their spaceship and watching us, this is probably what they would have to say about us. A lot of it is from an ecological standpoint, and at the end of their description they tell us, your time is running out. Do I really need to connect this with our modern day lives? Actually you know what I will, if these whales showing up in random land-locked places are real, and according to my friend Cait, she has seen it first hand, then perhaps maybe there is a presence and maybe that is their way of warning us that they are here. Yes, large dead sea mammals falling out of the sky are not as intimidating as a giant long hand but hey.
