9 things you may not know about me: 1. As a freshman in high school I went to visit my cousin in San Diego. While there I took the bus to Tijuana, Mexico and got stopped by border control for trying to bring fire crackers to the USA. 2. While in San Diego, we decided to hike the Grand Canyon in a day. We were stranded at the bottom due to extreme heat till dust. It took us 15 hours to hike from top to bottom:) 3. Decided to take modeling classes in Minneapolis instead of using that money for a high school class ring. 4. After college it was a toss up of joining the peace corps or buying a one way ticket to NYC. After couch surfing and finding a social work type job. Peace Corps contacted me...I couldnt give up that NYC experience.... 5. My best friend and I stepped in a hornets nest while taking a leak on our way to Maryland. 6. Im not a strong swimmer but Ive chosen to do daring water events. 7. Ive went white water rafting down the Nile river in Africa and our raft tipped 4 times. 8. Ive also went to Australia and went scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef. My scuba instructors gave me the nickname freight train as I used the most oxygen:) 9. I met my husband on match 10. I sometimes wonder if I work to live or live to work as I love finding people that glimmer of hope in social work
