93.3 FLIPS FORMATS. 98 KUPD TAKES OVER MANDATORY METALLICA Yup, its true. If you havent heard yet (Im sure most have), our sister station, 93.3 KDKB, was flipped today and has turned alternative. Nothing wrong with this at all. Although it is sad to see some of my co-workers go, we all understand why it happened. Thats all I will say about the topic. In fact, my radio career was jumpstarted at KDKB as a Research Assistant, Promo Assistant, and part-time On-Air (briefly). KDKB has been an Arizona staple--like KUPD--for many years. Its sad to see it go, but heres to new beginnings and I welcome the loyal listeners from KDKB. Much respect to my co-worker and competitor, Mike Gaube. Tonight, 98 KUPD will carry the Mandatory Metallica Torch at 10PM. I hope this serves as a consolation to those loyal to KDKB for many years. Respect. SH
