#945: When I lived in the south, I was raised Christian and proud of my heritage. As I grew and discovered that I was attracted to men as well as women, I was terrified- afraid of myself, hating my body, scared of everything. As a nerdy kid, I felt like every time I had one of these feelings, I was betraying Jesus, my only true friend. I took to hurting myself every time I felt this way as an apology to God for the sin I couldnt control. This went on for longer than I want to admit. So dont tell me im intolerant for not respecting your belief that being gay is a choice. I wouldve given anything to stop feeling those feelings. To be able to lie to myself. Im happy with who I am now, but you have the GALL to tell me my own experiences are a lie? That its just something I believe to justify being immoral? Well. Have a pleasant time, and good luck trying to explain that to your grandkids. Truth and love always win, in the end.
