A BETTER PERSON -Taiwo Ade My lips quivered and then I started to cry. Mom perched herself on the edge of my bed and with a concerned look, she asked me Dear what is it, what is bothering you? I sat upright and amidst tears I said Mom the job interview is tomorrow and I cant afford to screw up. Im worried about my sleeping habit, what if I wake up so so late and... Go to bed, youll wake up early. Mom said, interrupting me. The Next day, I was awakened by the alarm. It was 9am. Ah! One hour late. Im sure I must have been snoozing the alarm. I said below a whisper. I checked my phone, I ran to the living room to confirm the time, it was 9am. In a hurry I did all I needed to do and got out of the house. I hailed a Taxi and it screeched to a halt, Walton avenue, please I paused to collect my thoughts and say a word of prayer before entering the interview room. A man at the entrance smiled at me and said We are keen on punctuality and we appreciate your compliance, please sit over there. I sat where he had told me to, in curiosity I looked at the clock, it was 8:30am; the exact time of the interview. Immediately I got a text message from my Mom and it read: Dear, I had to change the time in the whole house just to make sure you get to the interview early... Much love, Mom. I smiled, and replied Thank you mom, I luv you Dear,You could picture my Mom as Jesus, He is ever willing to make you a better person at all cost.. He welcomes everyone no matter how they are...and makes them better than they were yesterday. He knows your weakness, your flaws and inadequacies. Let Jesus make you a better person. Stay Joyful. P.S I only wrote this, it is not my True life story.
