A Belper resident has brought it to our attention that during the AVBC full council meeting on 17th September, it was very briefly mentioned by Councillor Paul Jones (leader of Council and Cabinet member for Policy) that himself and Councillor C Emmas-Williams (Deputy leader Council and Cabinet member for Regeneration) had attended a meeting on Tuesday with Belper North Mill Trust representatives and Derwent Valley Mills Board, this is recorded in the minutes for the meeting 17th September where it is noted as having taken place on Tuesday, with no date and also no mention of C Emmas-Williams. We cannot find any official account of the meeting or a record of what was said and discussed and who actually attended, but it may explain the less than robust representation submitted to AVBC regarding the proposed changes to the Core Strategy (Local Plan part 1) from the DVMWHS management.
