A CHRISTMAS STORY - This is a truly inspirational story. Kennett area family struggles to get food on the table every day. Husband has cancer. 10-year-old daughter, who goes to Bancroft Elementary, has medical issues and must be transported to medical center every week. Engine on family van blows up. They have no way to get around. Enter the Longwood Rotary Club. One of its members, Nick ONeill, donated a car his son had won at the Unionville Prom several years ago. He brings it to a service station to get it inspected, but finds out it will cost thousands of dollars to make it street worthy. Enter J and G Automotive. They agree to do labor free of charge. Longwood Rotary Club pays $1,000 for the parts. The Simpers Insurance Agency donates fees for title transfer. The family came to the Simpers Agency. They did not know what to expect. They were told this morning the car is theirs for free. Feliz Navidad, they were told. There were tears. Tears of joy. This impoverished family got an early Christmas present. Watch the video. Youll see why we live in the Kennett area and the best community in the world. ---Fran Maye
