A Canadian Coast Guard ship in Mahone Bay played the bookend for a lovely evening of eclectic music in beautiful Stonehurst by the Early Music Ensemble, who gave their 16th Annual Concert at the Rhinelanders ethereal summer residence. After the enchanting performance of selections ranging from c. 1500 to 2004, the musically appreciative audience were further mesmerized by the copious potluck offerings. And as Oscar Wilde so wisely stated in The Picture of Dorian Gray: The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. As I started the drive toward home, wrapped in the cool ocean breeze, I watched a bright red crescent moon slip quickly below the horizon. A lovely evening of counting many blessings.
