A Case Study of Dreamy Rina Begom- Rina Begom was born in 1986. She was the youngest daughter of her parents. Rina’s father was a Farmer as well as Moulovi (Emam of local mosque). Her parents had total 360 decimal cultivable lands along with 06 decimal housing lands. Rina was born when her father was at 55 years of age. So, she received lots of affections and love from the family members at early stage of her life. Rina’s father was a rice farmer; thus socioeconomically she was secured than other families of the village. In 1991 she was admitted at local primary school; from where she achieved 2nd place under Mithapukur Upazila at board scholarship examination of primary level in 1996. According to Rina Begum; “…my mother was so much happy to see my achievement. She used to say I will be doctor one day and serve for the community.” Thus holding this enthusiasm she gave more attention on her study and tried hard to get good academic result in future. But Rina’s father denied her to seat on Secondary level scholarship examination due to far distance of the examination center in Rangpur city. However, this incident made her hopeless and helpless as well. She was being frustrated about her dream and made argument with father but couldn’t able to convince. In 2003, Rina was prepared for SSC examination but again her father denied sending her at Mithapukur Upazilla town for exam period of 30 days along with other classmates. It was about 4 to 5 hours journey by bicycle to exam hall and that’s why all students of that community took rental house besides the exam center during examination period. This time Rina did not make argument with her father, even not a single sound! She felt like heartless and deep darkness in wet eyes. Her mother tried hard to convince her father for this time but couldn’t able anymore. Rina Begom replied, “…my father was not a bad man. He was scary about my safety. Actually there had a bad experience of our neighbor friend. The very last year of 2003, one of my elder friends who stayed at a rental house was been physically assaulted during SSC exam. So, it brought dark frightening in my father’s mind. He had a dignity at the society and never let that go any way.” Eventually Rina’s father forced to marry a man of Chapra village under Pirgachha Upazilla on November 2003. So, she entered a conjugal life at the age of 17. A girl who lost her dream was struggling more in a new environment where had lots of responsibilities with various roles. Rina’s husband Md. Aminul was very friendly and helpful human. Sometimes she couldn’t able to manage household chores but Aminul helped her. As a joint family they had no choice of taking foods, works even choosing cloths! So, Rina was having frustration than before. But after two years later in 2005 she got a baby girl and started to sew her dream again. In this year, her parents in law separated them as nuclear family and shifted to another place in same village. So, they again faced a financial crisis for building their new home. Her husband rent some cultivable lands besides day laboring and she started to poultry rearing in small scale. So, they both tried hard to touch their dream of hunger less life with dignity and social status. In 2011, Rina was tens about her baby (Adori) who admitted at primary school. She was being afraid to remember her childhood. But she was committed by herself that she will never let her baby’s dream go. In 2012, Rina was able to know about Islamic Relief, Bangladesh (IRB) through the staffs of SAFOLLO project who came at her door for including her name in a survey form. But she was not able to be a member of Chapra Mohila Samity at first time of the selection process. Eventually in 2013 she got chance to be a member of the Samity as replace member and had been selected as cashier of the group. Her husband had full support on her membership. Then she received total 7000 BDT as Quard-Al-Hasan (interest free loan) from the Samity on 10-03-2014. After then, she purchased a cow by adding more 5000 BDT with the received amount of 7000 BDT. However, her husband took all responsibilities of revolving process of the amount as quickly as possible. As a result they could able to pay the total amount by four months only and took 2nd time loan of 10000 BDT on 02-07-2014. So they have been able to take 30 decimal cultivable lands as mortgage. Now they have total 60 decimal cultivable lands as mortgage. Moreover, they have 16 poultry (Hen) as another livelihood options from where their daughter gets protein along with them. So, Rina and her husband have lots of struggling experiences and learnt many things in life. They have a plan to build their house by the first quarter of 2015. After then they have plan to purchase some pieces of lands asset. Besides all these plans, Rina has a special plan and that is about her daughter. She said, “…I want to see my daughter will finish her Master’s degree and serve for the society as Govt. service holder. I won’t let her dream go. This is my core dream of life… ”
