A Christian must pray Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Ephesians 6:18. (KJV) Make no mistakes about it, a Christian should pray. It is imperative that a Child of God learns the importance of prayer. The Bible tells us to pray always and unceasingly. Paul also tells us to pray with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. The need for a praying generation cannot be over emphasized, and training in this area is an absolute obligation. Prayer is essentially an address to God, but it is also an address to the person. When a Christian engages in prayer they not only reach out to the Lord but the reverse also happens. God reaches out to you. Prayer keeps your spirit in constant check and widens your spiritual feeler, it is in prayer that you receive instruction and learn to listen to the Holy Spirit. Many young Christians complain on not being able to recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit, but this is so because they lack continuous prayer, because His sheep know His voice (JOHN 10:27). Train yourself to pray in the Spirit and excel in it. You will realize there’s nothing quite like it. It will enable you understand the word of God even more, and you spiritual stamina will improve.
