Police are continuing their inquiries after a man died following an altercation at Tweed Heads. About 6.15pm on Saturday 27 September 2014, a man was involved in an altercation with another person near a licensed premise in Wharf Street. The 48-year-old was taken to Tweed Head Hospital with head injuries. He was later transferred to Gold Coast University Hospital where he died yesterday on Tuesday (30 September 2014). Detectives from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command have formed Strike Force Findo to investigate the man’s death. Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the altercation, or who has information to assist, to come forward.
