“A Dance with the Devil” I once knew a young man who carried - TopicsExpress

“A Dance with the Devil” I once knew a young man who carried such shame. He was always consumed with such hatred and pain. Stuck in life’s cyclone like it was a game. Constantly twisted and spun on a a drug called cocaine. Thinking these things would some how kill real pain. Using it while watching celebs as well on their rise to fame. Thoughtless sin…and persistent shame, Was all that was found in this black domain. Snorted and shot up, addiction seemed tame! Life now like my churches glass colored and stained but double pained. Tough to see through, like society’s standard or praying in vain! Feeling nothing like Abel and more like Cain! How can I stop! Can these demons be slain? God spoke to me then and said, “Yes my son!” “But like anything you must sacrifice some fun.” “If you think it’s hard now I have just begun!” My stomach turned and I fell ill. The next thing I knew I was arrested and asked to squeal. Giving them the run around. Car dealers call it the spiel. I lied not just to them but to myself about what’s real! God giving me the chance secondly, served like a hot meal! I thought – my soul’s in a scab and hopeless to heal! The devil popped up and whispered in my ear: let’s make a deal. Even though I don’t gamble, I felt an unexplainable thrill! I was the one to be beaten. A Christian Soul to kill! Heavens Above, yellow, pink and teal brighter than the sun, If your dance with the fallen one isn’t too much fun. You won’t be blinded or hunted without a gun! Then three fold I lost my family and unborn son! I now truly knew what it was to be shunned. This weight was still not lifted and felt like it was a ton! Realizing on my downward spiral, it had only just begun. Series of misfortunes, feeling like a forgotten son! God suddenly appeared. He then spake, “You disbelieve. Remember from where I come!” “Life is a test, look closely, not a pun!” “The things you choose from Satan don’t make you hated, my son!” The dance with the devil although lot’s of fun, Cost me more than I thought. Losing a fight that couldn’t be won. My innocence lost had now needed to be earned not bought! Getting worse. Now alive and homeless I then thought, “Will this dance last 4 ever, I messed up and got caught!” Feeling foolish, still alone, knowing I’d been burned. I realized I wasn’t alone, just taking my turn! If you are ever asked to dance with the devil you better say never, Cause a dance with Lucifer might last you for ever. Asked again I didn’t hesitate or contemplate to play with my faith. I learned he’s around every corner in the flesh’s sinful yearn! The selfish and wicked are always restricted; those are the dancing fools that will stay conflicted! Hesitance in God cuts deeper than a sword! It scars your heart and soul like an unhealed sore!!!! The fight was uneven; now time to even the score. I’ve come back to Christ on fire and reborn! No longer living a life that’s torn! Closer to Him more than ever like his crown that bears thorns! Hear my story please and read it through. It’s mine, yes, but could belong to you! Remember greatness evokes jealous and unrighteous spirits. Life isn’t a game but please don’t fear it! I’m not preaching but you’re trying to hear it! We are all God’s children, if you let Him in, you can be one. Come to my heart, Christ, and now I’m done!! By James Patrick Lane CSO Wire
