Preparation For 2014 Election In Yap Underway (Election/Media Div.) — The Yap State Election Office is scheduling visits to the Neighboring Island communities in Yap Proper as part of its preparation to complete all necessary work before the upcoming State General Election on November 4, 2014 for Gubernatorial and Senatorial Posts. In a statement sent to the Media Division, the State Election Office is informing all eligible voters residing in the outer island communities in Ruuq, Makiy and Daboch—including Fisheries & Maritime Institute staff from the Neighboring Islands—that members of the State Election Task Force will pay visits to their respective communities on Saturday, January 25, 2014 to conduct registration; at the same time, the task force will get pictures for those who have not been issued a FSM Voter’s Identification yet, for the FSM Election Commission. The Election Office mentioned that the task force will begin in Ruuq village at 10:00AM and move on to the FMI Campus and Makiy before lunch and continue at Daboch at 1:00PM. In addition, Election Board members residing in those areas are requested to attend and assist the task force in registering new voters as well as working on incomplete records from special polling for the Neighboring Islanders in Yap Proper.
