A Direction With Merit...... Phillip posts a unique thought and certainly a reason to pause and think. There is no such thing as having to always be original or the only one to achieve something great. If a city or place does something that would benefit us here, why not copy it. You know why we have all the problems we do in our community? Us, ourselves, we are the reason why. Go back and look at our society 75, a hundred years ago. Events that occurred that were notable were not created by some government committee; they were done by local organizations. The USO did so much for our soldiers, the Scouts our children, AA for our people with problems...so when and why did we stop. Have we become so lazy as a society as to quit getting involved? Each of us has a gift, a character trait that God gave us. Mine I always think of as analyzing data and creating strategy. When I look at this Free Daytona page and everyone who contributes I dont just see a movement to keep cars on the beach, I see people of compassion and commitment who want to bring back the days gone by, even the younger followers here. What Phillip brings up is exactly what we need to be doing. It seems the powers to be are always looking at the economics of development rather than the basic Disney concept of fun at the turn of every corner. Close your eyes for a moment and think of the beach side as a version of what Disney is. Nothing is impossible when peoples hearts are in the right place. 3700 strong and growing. There is more to this group that meets the eye and with leaders and visionaries, motivated with a positive attitude, it can be done. Something to think about.
