A FURTHER RESPONSE TO ARISTEO AND FRANK ON “WHO WILL BE - TopicsExpress

A FURTHER RESPONSE TO ARISTEO AND FRANK ON “WHO WILL BE SAVED?” If there is no correct religion, where are we heading then? If there is a God, He must be existing and He must be somewhere – we call it Heaven. There must be a way to go there. Right? Which way? Everyday we eat when we go hungry; though we can fast, too. We see the doctor when we are sick. We avoid dark alleys for fear of getting mugged. In short, we do not want to die; but we will die no matter what we do. This is sensing of eternal life – we would like to live forever. We do not want just to live this life on earth, we would like it to continue for all eternity. How can that possibly happen? Here is how: PROPERLY receive the Holy Eucharist in every Mass on Sundays and Holydays of Obligation and “perform at least one act of love of neighbor in the course of each day.” Here is the basis: “I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “AMEN, AMEN, I SAY TO YOU, UNLESS YOU EAT THE FLESH OF THE SON OF MAN AND DRINK HIS BLOOD, YOU DO NOT HAVE LIFE WITHIN YOU. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.”” John 6:48-58. “While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, “Take and eat; THIS IS MY BODY.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, for THIS IS MY BLOOD of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.” Matthew 26:26-28. “The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in THE BLOOD OF CHRIST? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in THE BODY OF CHRIST?” 1 Corinthians 10:16. “Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for THE BODY AND BLOOD OF THE LORD. A person should examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning THE BODY, eats and drinks JUDGMENT on himself. That is why many among you are ILL AND INFIRM, and a considerable number are DYING.” 1 Corinthians 11:27-30. “Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. AND BEHOLD, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, UNTIL THE END OF THE AGE.”” Matthew 28:18-20. “Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING. Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you.” John 15:4-7. “If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead DWELLS IN YOU, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that DWELLS IN YOU.” Romans 8:11. ““I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that THEY MAY ALL BE ONE, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.” John 17:20-21. “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. Indeed someone might say, “You have faith and I have works.” Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works. You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe that and tremble. Do you want proof, you ignoramus, that faith without works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by the works. Thus the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called “the friend of God.” See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by a different route? For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD.” James 2:14-26. “You are to show mercy to your neighbors always and everywhere. You must not shrink from this or try to excuse or absolve yourself from it” (Divine Mercy in My Soul, Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, 742). “On this day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. … Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet” (Diary, 699). Hence, first thing first. BE BAPTIZED FIRST: “Jesus answered, “Amen, amen, I say to you, NO ONE CAN ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD WITHOUT BEING BORN OF WATER AND SPIRIT.” John 3:5 and “Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, BAPTIZING them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”” Matthew 28:18-20. Then receive the rests of the sacraments: HOLY EUCHARIST, CONFIRMATION, RECONCILIATION/CONFESSION, MATRIMONY, HOLY ORDER, AND ANOINTING OF THE SICK; then we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to do good works at least one daily. Now, that being said and referenced, where then can we be BAPTIZED and receive the GENUINE HOLY EUCHARIST and the rests of the sacraments? We can be baptized in any Christian denomination believing in the Triune God. But we can only PROPERLY received the genuine Holy Eucharist in the Catholic Church in every Mass perform by an authorized Catholic priest. Where did we learn all of these? We learn it thru a religion called Christianity. We cannot just learn it by ourselves. We need to be guided in these matter of faith and morals by a church founded by our Lord God Jesus Christ, Himself. And that church, the Universal Church, the Mother Church, is the Catholc Church - “And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”” Matthew 16:18-19. Yes, there is a correct religion. That religion is Christianity and the Mother Church is the Catholic Church! ROMAN CATHECHISM PASTORAL PRINCIPLE: "The whole concern of doctrine and its teaching must be directed to the love that never ends. Whether something is proposed for belief, for hope, or for action, the love of our Lord must always be made accessible, so that anyone can see that all the works of perfect Christian virtue spring from love and have no other objective than to arrive at love.”
