A Friends Comment Worth Repeating I went to a presentation at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. An American Jew, Edmund Hanauer, spoke out against Israeli behavior in the occupied territories. Hostile Jews in the audience nearly lynched the guy right there in the auditorium. Then local Jewish pressure groups tried to have the dean of the school who invited him to speak fired for allowing him to speak on that campus. That wasnt an isolated incident. It happens all of the time. Thats a trap that Zionism has created for Jewry at large. Nobody dares criticize Israel no matter how bad their behavior is. Meanwhile, European Anti-Semitism Is on the Rise and it is largely a reaction to events in Palestine. _______ Too many secular American Jews and others dont understand the connection. A hard-liner, 55 year old, Zionist, ultra Orthodox, Israeli Jew, in truth has very little in common with secular American Jewry, but both heed their identity as Jews, and the former get tared with the brush aimed at the latter, also in part because American Jews target anyone, especially a Goy, who dares to speak out against the greed and over reach of those Jews running Israel. That behavior in turn reaffirms old discriminatory stereotypes that too easily are thought by some to reach all Jews generally. Israeli hard liners are doing American Jews no favors and American Jews arent helping themselves either by not distancing themselves from the Jews running Israel and some running Americas big banks. Sticking together is fine but only if all behave well.
