A GREAT LEGEND FINALE! THREE FANTASTIC formulae will warm up the winter night at Birmingham Wheels Raceway on Saturday 8th November, with the UK Oval Track Legends topping the bill. The American-built “pocket rockets” have enjoyed an ultra-close season in 2014 with a huge variety of title winners across England and Scotland and they contest their Golden Helmet race at the Bordesley Green venue. 64 Tim Hudson holds the title but will certainly have his work cut out to retain this impressive trophy. The National Points and 1200cc Championships will also be decided at the Legends bring the curtain down on their season. 66 Martin Heath is the favourite to retain the points title but new sensation and reigning Whites & Yellows champion 19 Miles Rudman, 182 Mike Walmsley and top rookie 21 Sean Smith are not far behind him. The 2 Litre Hot Rods also round off their Incarace season, with hopes high for a similarly large turnout as were present for the Midland Championship in October. The vastly experienced 43 Paul Wright came out best in that, while leading local names to watch out for will include 928 Dave Leech, 45 Mark Edwards, 92 Nick Ross and many more as the formula continues to gain a bigger foothold in the Midlands all the time. These highly-tuned racers can even put the famous National Hot Rods to shame for side-by-side racing! Completing the field are the ever-popular BriSCA F2 Stock Cars, with many top names set to attend ahead of the Gala Night one week later where plenty of special events are planned. Last time out at Birmingham it was 101 Kelvyn Whalley who dominated proceedings with three wins but 437 Danny Withers took the Final. Brothers 117 Thomas and 817 Tim Bailey have been in fine form at the Wheels recently, while 83 Sy Harraway recently took the track’s White and Yellow Series Final. This is the perfect way to beat the winter blues and warm up your November weekend – action kicks off at 6pm.
