A Great Humanitarian lost December 31, 1972 in a plane crash delivering relief supplies to earthquake ravaged Nicaragua. He arranged 4 planeloads of supplies and was on the 4th plane. i wanted to make sure the people who needed the supplies got them. They did not!! The corrupt Somoza Government intercepted all the supplies for themselves! He was rightfully Assassinated while in exile in Paraguay. R.I.P. Roberto! An interesting side note, His good friend and team mate, Manny Sanguillen was the only member of the Pirates who didnt go to the Memorial Service. He chose to return to the crash site and dive into the water searching for Roberto, Sadly his body was never recovered!
