A Highs boson / god particle was actually found? What? I remember watching all the shows where they were running the tests and found evidence of an unknown that they thought was it, then I supermanned into a street sign. Well I was just watching one of the Colbert reports, Dr. Neil De Grasse Tyson was the guest. Stephen was doing his thing trying to get the Dr. To argue and WHAM. Yep, in March of 2013 while I was still trying to figure out what was real and what was a hallucination, they did it. The scientific community mostly agrees that they got the proof they needed to be able to make sense of why, when certain interactions happen between two particles, there had to be something with more mass that they were still missing. It helped to verify why we thought things like atoms work. The instance of smashing two protons together at CERN, they believe, recreates, on a minuscule scale, what happened in that first tiny bit of a split second after the Big Bang. There is so much more that we can move toward verifying and explaining now. But, now it looks like there may be more than one of these crazy particles. Science needs to move faster, and I need to start reading up on all this again. A lot of it is way over my head right now but it is really fun to me when I finally am able to grasp something that at first might as well have been a different language but all of a sudden, it makes perfect sense.
