Watch and Act Issued For: Lancefield Fire Origin: LANCEFIELD Incident Name: WHALANS TRK Issued: 16/01/14 3:51 PM This is an upgraded Watch and Act message issue by Country Fire Authority for Lancefield and Romsey. The LANCEFIELD Whalans Track bushfire is currently not yet under control. It is now travelling in a south south easterly direction towards Lancefield and Romsey. Spot fires and ember attacks are starting up to400 metres ahead of the main fire front. The fire is now expected to impact Lancefield and Romsey any time in the next three hours. Dont wait, leaving now is the safest option - conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency Services may not be able to help you. Travel to; - The home of family or friends that is away from the warning area. The next update is expected by 16/01/14 7:45 PM or as the situation changes. Safety information: Remember to take your prescriptions and medication, photo ID, bottles of water, your mobile phone and charger and consider what you will do with your pets. When driving, slow down and turn on your headlights; smoke will make it difficult to see. If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
