* * * * * * * * * * A PLEA TO STERLING LACY * * * * * * * * The recent events have shown the citizens of Bowie County your true side. Your actions are not godly, honest, and transparent. This is not how TRUE Christians should behave. Your actions are destructive and self-serving. Your scorched earth policy has decimated Bowie County’s finances, made this county the laughing stock of Texas government, and has embarrassed the citizens of this county. You have lost all respect with courthouse employees, state officials, and County Commissioners, except one. Your antics remind us all of NSA, IRS, and Travis County Public Integrity Unit tactics. Things just did not work out for you. Not everybody is cut out for this role. If you have even an ounce of true regard for the taxpayer of Bowie County you will resign immediately. It would allow time for financial professionals to clean up your budget, which is in shams, make it compliant with State Law, and give some sort of direction and hope to the numerous County employees who have no idea if their paychecks bounce in the near future. The choice is clear. Show Christian compassion for the county employees and county citizens or continue your selfish and political agenda that will only result in ruining more lives.
