A Pink Floyd homage? According to an unknown being: I have decided that a true Pink Floyd fan would recognize that this song is not simply a rip-off of Dogs, it is actually an intentional homage to Floyd, and contains riffs and melodies that are directly derivative of at least half a dozen other Pink Floyd tunes, including another song from Animals and several others from The Wall. The ending riff is very similar to the outro of Sheep, and from the Wall, youve got parts that sound like In the Flesh, Is there Anybody Out There and a few others. The bottom line is, the similarities are so obvious, yet tastefully done, that to call it simply a rip off is missing the point. Time Flies is an homage to one of PTs and prog rocks core influences, apart from being a very well written song in its own right.
