A Prayer for a Despondent Family Member during this Thanksgiving Day Celebration Father God I come before you on behalf of families who have a despondent family member. Sometimes family events have occurred that are not forgotten or forgiven by others. At times these actions were intentional and are non-remorseful by the contributor. Other times they were un-intentional and took place only because of circumstances. Father I pray that you open the hearts of all the family members; including those who have hidden angers toward others revealing that forgiveness is the mainstay of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Proverbs 11:29 He who brings trouble on his family will inherit only wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise. We ask that the Holy Spirit soften any unforgiving heart of a family member. Let our focus be on any family member who has betrayed us, hurt us, or left us. I pray for the Holy Spirit to provide a bridge for all those who have fallen away, enabling all to come together with forgiveness toward one another. May a new found love and respect be in each heart, as we all kneel before the love and forgiveness demonstrated by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May we all recognize that only through the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that all things are possible. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen Marvin R. McKim
