A Quick Guide to CCL Fanarchy 3 Though Fanarchy is the show the fans book (as in every match on the show is requested by the fans), it helps to give a little context to the matches on the show. So…here it is. • Gregory Black vs. Sherman Samson in a steel cage match. This will be just the sixth steel cage match in CCL history, and very likely, the one to be the most violent. But after a brutal no holds barred match at Global Warning 3 in Los Angeles and an I Quit match at Futureshock that has surely taken years off their careers, it is anybody’s guess as to how much more their bodies can take. The steel cage will be a test of will and pain tolerance as the two men race to escape the structure. • Wonder Woman vs. Christie Monteiro in a two out of three falls match. It has been two years since these two ladies met in their classic ironman match, and a full year since they met at CAW Destiny VI. Since then, their voted-in meeting scheduled for Supernova 2011 was interrupted by shenanigans, the two won the women’s tag team titles together, and most recently, they both lost to Beth Phoenix in women’s championship matches. There may be a lot more than pride at stake in this match, as a win could put them right back in the title hunt. • Suicido vs. Michael Heinman vs. TGO vs. Vamp in a fatal four-way hardcore match. It’s a reunion of sorts featuring four members of The Movement in a hardcore match. That might be bad news for anyone not named Suicido, who became the new hardcore champion at Futureshock. It’s especially bad news for Michael Heinman, who (a) did Suicido dirty at US-DOJO’s Rise of the Phoenix and (b) is probably still licking his wounds from the submission match at Futureshock against world champion Gregory Black. • Samus vs. Zelda vs. Peach in a triple threat match. Times have been good lately for the Sisters of Smash. After struggling to post wins for months, the group got three big ones earlier this month: on the 4th of July, Zelda upset Wonder Woman to win the UWO Womens Championship at Enmity, the threesome won 30% of the UWO itself with Link’s win later in the evening, and the next night defeated Starr Power during the Futureshock Final Countdown. But those good times may come to an end as the Sisters will be forced into a triple threat match with each other. Fans can be cruel sometimes. • Psylocke vs. Meredith Clark. Expect the biggest pop of the night to go to one half of the women’s tag champs and the only Brit competing on the show, Psylocke. She’ll have a tough challenge as she’s up against a two-time former CCL Womens Champion and would-be owner Meredith Clark. • The Freemans vs. Knightmare. With Future Foundation winning the tag team titles at Futureshock, the tag division is wide open, and these two teams (one a former tag champion) are looking to position themselves for a shot at the new champions. • CJ Logan vs. Frank Shatter. While the “Alpha Jock” has spent most of this season in the arms of his “head cheerleader” Juliet Starling, he’s picked up a few wins here and there. CCL’s only grand slam champion will take on a changed Frank Shatter, coming off his decimation of his former tag partner and friend Aaron Spector. • Black Widow vs. Saya. The former SEA Rose of Roses will take on the first lady of the Avengers. The secret agent might want to have eyes in the back of her head though: Sports Entertainment Xtreme members rarely travel alone. So what match are you most looking forward to at Fanarchy 3?
