A Ranking of the X-Men Movie Franchise In honor of The - TopicsExpress

A Ranking of the X-Men Movie Franchise In honor of The Wolverine being released on blu-ray on Dec 3, Ive decide to tackle the difficult task of ranking all 5 films in the series. First let me lay my cards on the table and say that the X-Men is far and away the best superhero cinematic franchise. All entries are taken in high regard. 1. X2: X-Men United - sporting the best cast of characters of the series, X2 is not only the best of the bunch - it is probably the greatest single superhero film EVER. It raised the bar of the genre, praise that erroneously goes to The Dark Knight A+ 2. X-Men: First Class - this one breathed life back into the series when it needed it most and in doing so proved the staying power of the franchise. The casting is inspired, and the plot reads like the best Bond movie never made A 3. The Wolverine - finally, Hugh Jackman gets completely unleashed with his character, showing his acting chops and physical intensity. Being the newest film, I cant grade it as high as First Class which has time to rise towards the top, but its stock will rise as well and may challenge First Class for the 2nd spot A- 4. X-Men - if X2 raised the bar, the original set it. The modern era of the genre would not exist without this. Some growing pains are evident here, but its still entertaining as hell B+ 4. X-Men: The Last Stand - Following X2 was a big enough challenge, without Bryan Singer proved to lack a little consistency. Like Spider Man 3, haters love to pile up on this one but dont buy into the negativity B 5. X-Men Origins: Wolverine - this one is in a near tie with The Last Stand, and could flip flop depending on the day. Love it or hate it, it is still enjoyable while building some (albeit misguided) lore. The purest popcorn flick of the bunch B
