Day 4 (yes, I am late, but for great reasons ;o) and Day 5 of my Positivity Challenge! Day 4 1. I am thankful for all of my extended family, Bob Del Papa (father-in-law), Annette Del Papa (mother-in-law) and Michael Del Papa (brother-in-law). My niece and nephew, Michael and Callie, sister Wendy, brother-in-law, Jason Martin and his family. My Aunt Debbie and Uncle Steve Derkoski in NJ and my cousins, Ryan Derkoski, Jenna Derkoski and Jaime Derkoski. I am thankful for Kim and my Uncle Bob Reynolds in MD. I am thankful for my Aunt Joyce Gatz and Uncle John Gatz as well as Emily Gatz Winter, Tony Winter, Adair and Nathan all in the Atlanta area. I am thankful for Beth Gatz Thompson, Van Thompson, Gabe and Sam and Amy Gatz Groover and her husband, Mike also in the Atlanta area. 2. I am thankful I had my grandparents as long as I did, but, of course, wish I had them soooooooooo much longer. I was so fortunate to have one of them, my Nanny, Elberta Hodgson in attendance at our wedding. She was such a rock star during the event. I wish I had the wisdom in my youth to have asked all of my grandparents more about their own lives and life experiences. 3. I am thankful for all the furry family members I have had so far in my lifetime. Mischief, aka, Missy, my calico cat as a child and Angel, my sisters deaf (all white with blue eyes) cat. Ralphie (a girl beagle), J.D., Buddy (our first that we had as a true puppy), B.J. Bosco (all labs), Bear my sisters, then parents Pomeranian, Mystic Roby DelPapas then ours, and now Little Torch and Calypso our bengal mix rescues. They all have brought so much joy and make life more complete. Day 5 1. I am thankful that Roby DelPapa and I were able to travel overseas to the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland for our honeymoon ten years ago. There are still so many places we want to go, but we are so happy we shared those two weeks together. Experiencing other cultures is a passion we both share. 2. I am thankful to my best friend, Cindi Stiak-Hochard, James Todd Hochard, and her children Dori, Josh and Jakey. You all have been such great friends to both myself and then Roby for the past 20 years. We do not get to see each other nearly enough, but when we talk or get together it as if we never parted. I love you guys! 3. I am thankful for all the little things that make life so great. Sunsets, sunrises, the sound of the ocean waves. The taste of so many great foods like dark chocolate, NY style pizza on the Jersey Shore boardwalk, raspberries, watermelon, tiramisu, (yes, I have a sweet tooth), Moms cheese fondue, meatloaf, meatballs, london broil, disappearing marshmallow (aka cleaning) brownies, Dads cheeseburgers, fried chicken, French bread and too many other foods to mention. The smell of the air after a rain storm, the smell of ocean air anytime, and the smell of cookies baking. Babies and children laughing and learning, animals period, wild and domesticated, travel, kayaking, walks on the beach, hikes in the woods, waterfalls, shell hunting, laughter, a good healthy cry now and again, and music. Life is good, yall! Love you friends and family and thank you Wendy Gallamore Martin for challenging me! Positivity makes the world go round! So rather than challenging another 3 to 6 individuals to this challenge, I challenge ALL of you to take 30 seconds out of every day to find a few positive things around you. The smile that emerges on your face will make the world a happier place! And I just had to add a picture of rockstar Nanny! She said right there on the beach that she felt like a rockstar! She could have walked the half mile down the beach but we wanted her to ride in style!
