A SECTION of Administration Police officers in Kisumu have locked horns with the CID department over its probe on the assassination claims of Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga. The AP officers who disclosed to Modern Kenyan Corps said they were disappointed by the manner in which the investigators were doing their work. They said allegations made by one of them who was deployed to guard the deputy Governor and former PM Raila Odinga’s sister that she was being used to assassinate her were serious. They lamented that to date the Deputy Governor has not been called upon to record her statement yet the guard had done so.They disclosed that this will compromise investigation into the matter. “It was quite unfair for the Deputy Governor to claim one of us deployed to guard her was being used to kill her. The report has been made yet the CID department is dragging its feet in recording the leader’s statement,” said an AP officer. When contacted yesterday, Kisumu County CID commander David Cheruiyot said the matter was being handled.
