A Thanksgiving Prayer For Our Nation (Brian Collar, Director, Florida Patriots) Heavenly Father, Creator, Author and Sovereign, Thank you for the blessings of liberty, for this chosen land, for the call to faith, and the endowed courage of our predecessors. Forgive those of faith as we fail to stand firm in your will and word as this nation, establish by your grace and providence, turns from you and kneels, instead, at the alter of self: We worship the creation rather than the Creator. We credit ourselves for daily bread. We distort your covenants. We complain, are ungrateful, and fear as our every expectations are not met. We ignore the silent cry of the holy innocence. Forgive our cowardliness, our rejection of you. Until we join in your great feast, at your invitation, by your grace, and in your very presence, I thank you, on this your day, for being a God of reformation, of restoration, of refining fire. Draw us, sift us each and as a nation, Lord. Amen.
