SON OF POLICE OFFICER, Killer Mike, appeared on CNN this morning, He was speaking about the police killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Remember, Killer Mike is the son of former police officer, and he went on to discuss his respect for law enforcement but what he is seeing taking place around the country is NOT the law enforcement he grew up with or that his late father worked in. Mike says todays law enforcement is now made up of vets, who have military training, and they are being equipped with military equipment--leftovers sent back home. He says the behavior, training, and equipment are NOT consistent with the philosophy of policing which is intended to serve and protect community members, because community members are being treated as if they are the enemy in the war zone......think about it, then ask yourself WHO IS AUTHORIZING THE MILITARIZATION of our police forces, in training and in equipment.....then look into who holds the power of the purse according to our Constitution, Congress, a republican-controlled Congress. Then look into who heads up the Pentagon and DoD, where this equipment and training comes from, republicans head up those departments, the Bush leftovers! Then look into who heads up the Defense and Military Congressional Committees, REPUBLICANS APPOINTEES DO, and they are the ones writing the defense budgets and policies that keep America in a state of perpetual war, stealing tax dollars from programs at home and for Americans. Republicans are the ones shifting wealth away from education, health care, the elderly, infrasstructure, because Republicans are TRANSFERING American wealth away from Americans into the hands of the military industrial complex and the 1%!!!!!
