A Treaty is not the answer. An Aboriginal 7th State is not the answer. Land claims are not the answer. Fighting for recognition from the colonial government has never been and never will be the answer. These objectives are not outside the sphere of discussion, but they shouldnt be on the top of our priorities list. The fundamental question of Indigenous struggles is a question of nationalism, because belonging to a nation means we have rights and responsibilities. The answer to this question for us as Indigenous peoples is building a resistance movement and pushing forward with the reconstruction of that which underpinned our society prior to colonization. This is the manifestation, the assertion of our nationhood. This is the most valuable lesson I learned on our journey across occupied Canada. The only justice we as Indigenous peoples will get is the justice we take. #IndigenousNationalism #Resistance #Reconstruction #WhyWeNeedWarriorSocieties
