A Tribute to SOPHIA LOREN. American Film Institute lauded Sophia Loren as The Last Living Female Star on AFIs list of Greatest American Screen Legends . She was born on the 20 Sept:, 1934 at Rome, Italy. She began her career at 14 years, after entering a beauty pageant in 1949. She appeared in bit parts & minor roles till late 1950s when she got a 5-year contract with Paramount. Early films were - Houseboat, The Kind of Woman & It Started in Naples. She got an Oscar for her role as a protective mother in Two Women (1962). She starred in Yesterday, today, tomorrow, Marriage Italian Style, Sunflower, Boy on a Dolphin, A Countess from Hong Kong, El Cid, Arabesque, Boccacio 70, The Key & many others. Theres a saying that her eyes, nose, lips & ears, when singled out, are out of synchronous & proportion, but when combined on her face, it produced the most beautiful woman. She is 80 years & still hale & hearty, enjoying the Golden years of her life with zeal.
