A Year to the Day Its hard to believe a year has gone by since Rachel was rescued, were incredibly proud of this girl who captured the hearts of our followers (one in particular), Rachel made the headlines country wide. Upon getting a report of a cob stuck in a drain, the HHO team rushed to assist her, upon arrival the situation was much worse than anticipated. It really was a life or death situation, with the help of some very good neighbours and a vet at the scene in case the worst happened Rachel was lifted out of the place she would have died an excruciating death. Rachel spent weeks being miserable, cold, sore, afraid of her own shadow. We noticed how stiff she was and had her back and neck realigned, well overnight she became a different horse! First to the gate for her feed, first one to say hello, first one lining up for a scratch. We had many enquiries about rehoming Rachel and we turned them down one by one as we didnt feel they were a suitable match. We then had the pleasure to meet a woman called Jo, a lady who had been following Rachels story. Jo was the perfect home for Rachel, we just knew it, her kindness had overwhelmed us, her love for Rachel the horse, not Rachel the story was incredible. In early 2014 we brought Rachel home to Jo. She thrived and thrived, went from strength to strength, Rachel started to feel loved, Jo started training Rachel, took it one day at a time and began riding Rachel, she lives a life of luxury away from her old life, away from her ordeal, she has her protector and her protector has her! Rachel has since competed in shows and been placed (going to show with even the most difficult start, things can pan out just as well with some time and patience) Thank you Jo for taking such good care of Rachel, we wish both of you every happiness. We love you Rachel and were so proud of the horse you have become! Home now and safe forever! Good luck sweetie and keep doing us proud
