A beautiful note from Fr. Kris Stubna: "So many people stop into the Cathedral for prayer throughout the day. I never go into the Cathedral without seeing people coming in for prayer, especially for prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Our Church is an oasis and a beacon for many in the community who come to be strengthened by God’s grace. Often times, I have the opportunity to speak to those who come. Some of them ask me to hear their confession, some want to share their burden, or ask me to pray for a loved one who has just died. Others simply need encouragement as they go out to face the reality of their lives or have a question about faith teaching. It is a privilege and a gift to serve here as the pastor and see how many people come to the Cathedral for guidance, for strength, for hope and for grace. These are encounters that I remember every day in my own personal prayer as I lift the intentions of those I have met, as well as the intentions of every one of you who are parishioners of the Cathedral. Father Roche, Father Palsa and I pray Morning Prayer together once a week, and the entire pastoral staff of the Cathedral gathers for prayer every Tuesday at 11:30 am. In a special way we are praying for all who belong to the Cathedral parish, and for those who come to us seeking God’s love, His mercy and His grace. I would ask you to pray for me and all the priests of the parish, and to pray for those in our parish, and all who come to us seeking God’s help each day. This is something that we can do together – raise our voices in solidarity and faith for each other and for others. God is always close to those who come to Him. We pray that we might learn to accept His will and to live it with love, with hope, with confidence and with trust."
