A big thank you to Patrick Kreitner :-) For more than six years Patrick has taught German language classes for the community in Broken Hill. During this time, many people have benefited from his expertise, including some people who have German spouses and have appreciated the opportunity to learn more of their spouses native language. Patricks approach has always been patient, gentle and informative. He has also included information about German culture and traditions in his lessons and he has been a wonderful ambassador for Germany, in outback NSW. Patrick is very community-spirited. For the first year, the German classes were organised by a local community college with Patrick as the teacher, but when that was no longer possible, Patrick organised a new venue to enable the classes to continue. He has given generously of his time and has only charged students a minimal amount of money to cover the cost of venue hire and other expenses. Unfortunately, due to family and work commitments, Patrick will not be able to continue giving German lessons next year. On 3rd Dec. Patrick received a certificate and a letter of thanks to acknowledge the great work he has done to promote German language and culture, from the German Embassy Canberra.
