A big thanks goes to the Democratic Party of Arkansas for hosting the Fisher-Shackelford dinner tonight honoring women in politics. In one sense there have been precious few trailblazers the likes of Lottie and Jimmie Lou, but their strength of spirit and commitment to service is something shared by women across Arkansas. Im proud that in our U.S. Senate race, issues important to women and families have been at the forefront, and the contrast couldnt be clearer between my opponent and me when it comes to paycheck fairness, affordable student loans and protecting families from domestic violence. Arkansans deserves a senator who listens to them, someone whos responsible and works hard to make sure Arkansas comes first.
