A big welcome goes out to all the new supporters that have signed up for our E-Mail news on the WreathsForTheFallen.org web site. We have been extremely busy here at the Wreaths office since we completed our mailing. The good news is; we are now up to 77.9% of our goal for this year. However we do not want to become complacent as the number of contributions has dropped substantially in the last week. We only have 6 weeks to accomplish this year’s goal. Contributions are arriving daily, however, comparing the amount of contributions against the mailing shows many of the letters have not been returned as of yet. We have a way to go if we are to obtain our goal for this year. If you have received our contribution request letter and plan on contributing we would appreciate receiving it soon. Our policy is not to commit to any wreath orders until we actually have the funds in the bank. Most of the people that are assisting in the wreath making need substantial lead time in order to harvest the Balsam bows and make the wreaths. Confirmation has been received the Brainerd Civil Air Patrol is again going to sell wreaths through the Wreaths Across America program and all the wreaths will be delivered to the cemetery as they were last year. A number of their senior members, cadets and their parents will be assisting in the wreath placement activities. Last December they were able to provide 230 wreaths. A great accomplishment to aid in honoring our countries fallen veterans. We were on KKIN (Aitkin) radio on the 11th and WJJY (Brainerd) radio on the 17th bringing the listeners up to date on last years results and this years activities as well. Currently we are scheduled for another radio interview November 8th on KKIN (Aitkin) at 9am, FM 94.3 And three radio interviews on November 13th. KLTF (Little Falls) at 8:45am, AM 960 WVAL (Sauk Rapids) at 10am, and will be played the following two days KNSI (Saint Cloud) at 2pm. AM 1450 & FM 103.3 If you know anyone at other radio stations, give them a call and let them know we would be pleased to visit with them on the air. Send us their contact information and we shall be pleased to make the arrangements with them. We have been successful in our negations with MediaWorks advertising solutions to have our logo, web address and phone number on the back of cash register receipts at Cub Foods in Hastings, Lakeville, Arden Hills, Brooklyn Center, Broadway/Minneapolis, Rochester, Brooklyn Park, Crystal and the Rainbow store in Saint Louis Park. Each store will go through 100-150,000 coupons. We have received confirmation from most of the people that will be assisting coordinating all the activities on December 14th. Section Leaders, honoring our KIA’s with a special Wreath Laying, refreshments, and staging the wreaths when they arrive in the morning are just some of the areas where we need to have workers. So if you might want to participate in the morning setup just give us a call or reply to this newsletter. We have a number of positions we could use some additional assistance. This year Cal & Cindy Wolf from Eagle Bend will not be able to provide the wonderful Hot Cider, Coffee and treats this year as they are snow birds in sunny warm Arizona for the winter. So this is something we will have to work on. Last year they went through 10 gallons of Apple Cider, 200 cups coffee, and 80 dozen cookies all of which they donated. Any ideas anyone????? You can use a credit card or PayPal for your contribution. Please provide all information requested. And remember, we will make and lay a specific wreath in honor of a specific veterans grave. All you need to do is list the veterans name and birth date. We will verify the veterans location. Please keep in mind this is for the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls MN.
