A book Im always recommending, but frequently cant come up with the name and author on the spur of the moment: Lost Country Life, by Dorothy Hartley This is not only a fascinating read for any history lover, because its about the lives of people who DONT make it into history books, our everyday ancestors, but because it might be the best resource for grounding fantasy writers in the realities of a pre-industrial (European, in this case) world. This is how they had to do things, folks, and these are the things they did. I chose this review to highlight it because it was the only mention I could find that wasnt on an Amazon or B&N buy-page. But wherever you find it, its totally worth it. Great book, wonderful resource. jasonfry.tumblr/post/69428130001/on-reading-lost-country-life
