A brief background on why I am so passionate about this certification: Local friends- (and friends afar who can also seek out a local class) I want to take a moment to come back to my twice yearly push for every member of our community to consider getting certified in CPR. As many of you know, last year our son drowned while on vacation. He was pulled from the water blue, lifeless and without a pulse. CPR was performed and our precious little boy was revived and is now a healthy and vibrant 5 year old who started his first year in Kindergarten this past fall. It was a day that we thought we may never see, and in the days after his recovery I made a promise to him and to myself to be a voice for this life saving skill. Warm weather is upon us and I will once again be coordinating a private CPR class in Park West on April 26th at 8am at Lighthouse Church. Please comment below, join the event or PM me if you would like to participate. The class will be on April 26th at 8am at Lighthouse Church in Mt. Pleasant. Full certification will be provided by the local instructor (he is with the MPFD) and the more people we have participating, the lower the cost will be for the private class (last time we were charged around $20) so please invite your friends and family. Many thanks to the graduates of our last class! I cannot emphasize how critical this certification is to every parent and every member of our community. You simply never know when you will be called upon to save the life of another, and with this training you will be prepared to help not only your own family, but also those around you. It is very hard to put into word the emotions of what we experienced last year. This post, written on my blog shortly after everything happened was my effort to convey it in the best way I could. I hope to see you all at our upcoming certification! cullensblessings.wordpress/2013/06/04/deep/
