A brief reading before my daily nap. My favorite novel: “Argo il cieco” (“Blind Argus”) (“Argos el ciego) by Gesualdo Bufalino. Page 87: “To sleep, barbiturically to sleep, to dream, perchance to die… But at one time they were sleepless nights that never ended. Terrible nights. Whereas now they do the world for me, so full of visitors and visages, my hand ever ready to snatch them and pin them to the pillow… Nor do I cease for an instant - passing off lies as memories, swopping memories for dreams, laying it on in colors thick and thin - to tell my story. My own amanuensis, what a stroke of luck… and I’ve got the job for life!” I think that I should give this book away…
