A casually dressed gentleman is seated in the Supreme Court among officially dressed lawyers in the Kidero/Waititu case. (Only lawyers go to work in suits on Fridays). Then in walks Orengo, Wetangula, Muthama and other “VIPs”. They have nowhere to sit since all the benches are taken up. An AP in uniform looks around and decided several people have to vacate their seats by force for the Waheshimiwas to sit. Among those he picks is the gentleman. He has no courtesy. He orders them to vacate the seat. This gentleman tells him forget it, and the others follow suit. There is an exchange of words. The gentleman stands (sorry sits) his ground. He tells the cop to call Orengo or Wetangula to take the seat since they are senior advocates and officers of the court, but he won’t give it up for Muthama. The gentleman asks why Muthama wanted a seat at the court when he had left his unoccupied at the Senate. Another round of exchange embarasses the officer who then goes away without evicting anyone. And so the Waheshimiwa offer to follow the proceedings on their feet. Lucky for them the session takes only 15 minutes and everyone walks out in peace. The gentleman is called Wahome Thuku.
