A child molester apparently is near to freedom after guilty pleas Tuesday to lesser charges than in his original case in 2011. A Walla Walla County deputy prosecutors error opened the door to Phillip S. Ingram being allowed to withdraw his earlier pleas and a deal was reached in the case against him. The age of the case, stress of a trial on victims and the risk of acquittal were factors in the deal, according to Prosecuting Attorney Jim Nagle.
