A couple if write ups for U11 Destroyers that missed the newsletter - 13th July 2013 This week we took on the Wolves Warriors. The first game back after the school holidays break, and all of the children were ready for a great game. The kids played and held their positions well, with some outstanding work from Bailey, Jack and Seth. Mitchell scored our first goal with an amazing shot, to take us to a 1 – 0 lead. Mitchell further increased our score to 2-0 with a successful penalty kick. The second half was kinder to the opposition, with Wolves managing to level the scores, leaving the game at a 2 All draw. Our player of the week was a difficult decision again, as the team is improving every week and making it difficult to chose one above the other. However Baileys’ great efforts down the back defending the line and clearing attacking balls was outstanding. Well done to all of the team, and next week we meet the Central Razorbacks. 20th July 2013 This weekend we came up against the Central Razorbacks. Boy did this team have some big kickers in it!!! In the opening minutes, Mitchell sent a kick through from way out to start the score board off for the morning. What an amazing goal Mitchell – well done. The team played well with great effort up the front and incredible defence down the back. Big praise to Arlia, (how high can she jump and rebound!!!!!!), and Caillean who both did an exceptional job in goal. This week was Ashleys’ last week with us, before her move to Mitchell, and what a game she had. Ashley was every where in attack, and we all had our fingers crossed 3 times that the ball would score for her, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Great game Ashley, which earned you Player of the Week. We will all miss you Ashley, and if you are back for a visit before the end of the season, your spot will always be there for you. It looked like we were going to have a 2 All draw again this week, however the opposition managed to scrape the ball over the line in the dying minute of the game, to have the score against us 3-2. Great game by all, and it is great to see all of the children playing as a team. Next week we meet the Meteor Meerkats at 8.00am
