A couple of angry older conservatives (sorry, but there is no better description of them) the other day were insisting that we would not have a woman president any time soon. I replied that they said that not so long ago about a black president. They didnt like Hilary Clinton. It didnt help that I explained exactly how a lot of her words lately have been misquoted and taken out of context. So I asked, What about Elizabeth Warren? The three of them all mentioned one or two things about her, some false, some true. The old lady, a former Marine said that she was too far left and that, Shell never be president. The people dont know her from a hole in the ground! And yet, said I, everyone in this room already knows who she is. And I dont know if Elizabeth Warren is even going to run. Sorry, folks, but Hilary has still not contradicted her previous claim that she doesnt plan to run. But if she keeps talking like this, like she has been talking all along, supporting the middle class and not the institutions like Citigroup, whom she even calls out by name, who broke the economy six years ago. . . Well, I think shes worth considering. I havent seen a better potential candidate yet. From her speech: Washington already works really well for the billionaires and the big corporations and the lawyers and the lobbyists. But what about the families who lost their homes or their jobs or their retirement savings the last time Citigroup bet big on derivatives and lost?
