A couple weeks ago i came back from Belize and was at the airport - TopicsExpress

A couple weeks ago i came back from Belize and was at the airport waiting for my ride. It was late and I was sitting on the bench when I saw this young couple with their luggage like me. I assumed they were stranded or waiting for their ride too. I saw them trying to get warm as the night became cooler , To make convo I was like , you guys stranded or waiting for your ride too? The guys response was Na , we re actually homeless. We are from New York , we are here in Baltimore because we have an opportunity tomorrow to sign up for a Homeless services and medical enrollment. They explained what it was and that hopefully they can make it because they have 3 bucks and well, they need 3 bucks more to make it back for both of them, if they cant make it they would possibly be homeless for another couple weeks ... I immediately felt sorry for their situation and the thought of being on their own made me immensely interested in helping them as I would have liked for someone to do , had I been in that same predicament. They werent begging or asking me to help them. They wre simply carrying the conversation that I initiated. Had I not asked them if they were waiting on their ride they would have prob not even spark a convo. I immediately felt compelled to help. I wanted to help! They carried on with their prep for the night and then moved down to long benches where they could have settled for the night. The guy tucked his girl in spreading his white bed sheet on her and he then got in a comfortable guard while sleeping position next to her. My eyes got teary to see this and imagining me in a situation like that. I had no cash in my pocket but I needed to do something. I couldnt use the nearby atm machine because it was being serviced by some tech guy. I approached the guys and asked if there was another atm machine nearby , luckily there was. I grabbed my two luggage and walked about 3 mins to the machine. I took out some dash and then walked back to where I was. They were fast asleep by this time. I then walked up to the guy and politely shook him up. He got startled and panicked thinking I was airport security kicking us out I was like Na , I gave him the cash which proceeded him to tear up , by this time his girl then woke up. They both couldnt thank me enough. I was like Na , just take it as a blessing bro. Tomorrow you can make that attempt to go do what u need to do. I said goodbye and then left. I wasnt gonna post what i did because it was something that I genuinely wanted to do and not for any kind of recognition or anything. Upon seeing this video it brought me right back to what happened 2 weeks ago at the airport. Hopefully someone reading this or watching this video would find kindness in their heart to give a helping hand to our brother and sister out there. This video really brought tears to my eyes!!! We should strive everyday to be a little bit more compassionate towards others. Put urself in their shoes. Never try to make yourself feel better by assuming someone doesnt need ur help because they have two walking feet ,functioning hands etc. Simply Help , because you can. Make that be ur positive deed to help balance our universe.
