A eulogy for a furry friend... Theres not much you can say to someone who loses a pet, other than Im very sorry for your loss. They are indeed part of the family, and it is a loss when their gone. I wouldnt say that its the same as losing a family member so much as I would say losing a close friend. My brother Patrick Catena and sister-in-law Liz Catena lost their cat, Baby. Baby wasnt only a friend, not only a family member, but a fixture in their house... you see, they got Baby when they purchased the house, their first house, together, 6 years ago. I know from stories that she would follow my brother around each morning, she had his routine down, and was part of it every day, sometimes even going into the shower with him. Baby saw the coming and going of many of Briannas small furry friends, she saw a new bearded dragon come to replace Gianni, she saw the coming of Rocky, their second dog along with Sparky, and most importantly, she saw these two loud crying things that her mommy and daddy brought home and into her bedroom. Well, those kids are now 4 and 3, and they did everything possible that you could imagine to a cat, and she tolerated it like a patient mother. She grew to love those two new additions of her parents affection, and watched over them like a guard dog would. Baby was 6 when she passed today, she was very ill. I know that she was loved, for a fact, because Pat is allergic to cats. I even liked the little thing, she was my partner when I was staying at the house with the kids through the time that Pat was caring for Liz at the hospital after her heart attack. They did everything that they could for her (Baby), however, inevitably it was her time. We all have a timer, well all go, and people will be sad. Were all sad for Baby and for my brother and his family. Theres not much you can say to someone who loses a pet, other than Im very sorry for your loss, she will be missed, she was a good girl.
