A few ABC staff (George Fenwick, Mike Parr, George Wallace, Cynthia Palmer and myself) had a productive meeting yesterday with Andrew Walker, Executive Director of Bat Conservation International at ABC Headquarters in The Plains, VA. ABC and BCI are looking at the potential of greater cooperation on issues such as wind energy development and pesticides, which are affecting both birds and bats. BCI is moving more toward a science-based advocacy and conservation action role, very much like ABC. Very productive and I am looking forward to further meetings and joint action. batcon.org/
