A few days ago I bought an extra light blonde box of hair color from Feria. After I dyed it(the smell was so strong) I rinsed it and went to brush it, and discovered the top layer of my hair was DEAD. It was a mushy blob of white and was literally breaking off with the tiniest pull. OMG. Shortly After that I felt sick. I had a horrible headache, my heart and throat was pounding and I felt nauseous. My scalp was on fore and so itchy. I stayed in bed the rest of the night, feeling poisoned. So today I went to Matthew Michaels salon for an emergency fix up. Matthew Michael himself came over and talked to me about the dangers of box hair dye. He said that there are Metals in it that is absorbed and can make us sick. He said its an endocrine disruptor, which is why my thyroid was all out of whack that night making my throat pound. 6 HOURS I sat in that chair with multiple people working on it. I ended up being able to keep most of my length, with short layers on top. Its much darker than I wanted, but that is what had to be done to fix the white/yellow that I had. I am NEVER dying my hair with a box again!!!! Expensive lesson to learn. :( Thanks to Natalie Savoie for watching my kids all day today. Even though this was a horrible experience, Im glad it happened, because I learned a lot from it.
